Harmony Day is celebrated every year on March 21. It is an event that our school always looks forward to. It is a day to celebrate our cultural diversity by acknowledging and respecting our cultural similarities and differences.
The day comprises of a colourful array of Traditional Clothing from various countries, such as Poland, China, Croatia, Korea and Africa, just to name a few. Many soccer jerseys are worn representing different countries, as well as green and gold and of course orange, the representative colour of Harmony Day.
In classrooms, students design Harmony Day hands, read or listen to stories from around the world, map countries, and listen to various cultural songs. All in all it is a day of belonging and we all belong here at Gladesville Public School.
