The school has been notified that a student has contracted "Slapped Cheek". This virus is highly contagious and can be dangerous to pregnant women. Please be aware of the symptoms –fever, red cheeks, itchy lace-like rash and possible cough and runny nose. As this is most infectious before the rash appears, children need only be kept home if they feel unwell or uncomfortable.
Please encourage your child to wash their hands regularly and effectively, and refrain from sharing drinks to reduce the possibility of contracting this virus.
Please contact your doctor if you have any concerns.
